There are lots of fun scenes in this fast-paced little farce about the racing enthusiast Hurtigkarl and his sports-mad dream – to see his favourite runner hitched with his daughter Musse. Since Musse would rather be with hairdresser Svipp, Hurtigkarl has to think on his feet: A race between the two rivals must decide the matter – the winner gets to be with Musse until the end of days. The plan seems impeccable, but there’s something Hurtigkarl hasn’t thought of.

When Halfdan’s old flame, Karina, comes to town, the reaction of his jealous wife Märthe begins to concern him. But Halfdan has no clue that they’re in fact childhood friends, and the two women agree to keep Halfdan in the dark for a little while longer. When Märthe is on her way out of town, Halfdan sees an opportunity to replace his jealous wife with an actress in order to impress Karina.

The merchant Blomberg is out in the countryside with his daughters and housekeeper when the idyll is suddenly shattered. The daughters head off to have fun with two young guys from Copenhagen who are on a road trip, and the vagabonds Pat and Patachon seize the chance to interfere for their own gain.The preserved material is the original Swedish version titled 'Landsvägsriddare', translated to 'Tyvepak' in Danish.

Pat and Patachon live in the attic of an old house along with a number of other curious kinds of people. One of the residents is a fortune teller, who tells Patachon that he will inherit a fortune and marry one of the two sweet choir girls who live next door, and whom he happens to be in love with. The two friends don’t think much more of it and instead head off to work, as models for a tailor.
Hr. Tell og Søn
In this story, Pat and Patachon have decided to pursue a career as variety stars. Inspired by Patachon’s great role model, William Tell, they try to curry favour with an act called ‘William Tell and son’. They are taken on board at the Open Air Variety Show, where they meet two young girls who quickly become their good friends and training partners.
