The young artist Simon Durand happens to find himself in an idyllic village. Here he finds board and lodging with Marietta, who lives alone with her sick mother, and soon Durand has won the heart of his young hostess. Their happy state is threatened by the wealthy farmer Jerome, who has been courting Marietta in vain for a long time and is not about to abandon his hopes of eventually marrying her.

Court huntsman, Søtoft, is courting his daughter Else’s lady-in-waiting, Miss Engelke. That’s why it’s a bit of a punch in the stomach when, late one evening, he discovers his son Ove in close contact with her. Chamberlain von Plessen, who had been gossiping to Søtoft and is himself spying on the young couple, is going to set fire to the room they’re in.

Four soldiers are passing away time when one, looking through the window, spies a pretty girl sitting on a veranda on the opposite side of the street. Naturally, the cards are left, and the four are soon crowding the window, each vying for the girl's attention, much to her amusement. Even their officer, who enters the room to scold them, is soon absorbed in making eyes at the charming creature.

But when he embarks on a relationship with the millionaire’s daughter Anny, he gets into trouble: another suitor of hers gets jealous and will stop at nothing to get Berner out of the way.

There are lots of fun scenes in this fast-paced little farce about the racing enthusiast Hurtigkarl and his sports-mad dream – to see his favourite runner hitched with his daughter Musse. Since Musse would rather be with hairdresser Svipp, Hurtigkarl has to think on his feet: A race between the two rivals must decide the matter – the winner gets to be with Musse until the end of days. The plan seems impeccable, but there’s something Hurtigkarl hasn’t thought of.
Zigeuneren Raphael
A baby’s christening turns into a nightmare when Baron and Baroness von Wilhjelm’s young son is kidnapped by travellers. Mother and son are reunited after 20 years apart, when the band of travellers sets up camp at the very same estate where the Baroness resides. Raphael, as he is now named, has become a handsome young man, whom women swoon over.

A young servant enters a gentleman’s room, or perhaps it is in fact a cage full of dangerous animals?‘How it is – how it feels’ is the subtitle of this brief animated film by Sven Brasch, visualising various pointed metaphors with his sharp, characteristic pen.Sven Brasch was the most significant and internationally recognised Danish poster artist of the time.

She seeks out his mistress, and the two women agree to resolve their conflict in a duel.The music is composed and performed by Sigrid Aftret for the educational project 'Sounding Silents' – a collaboration between The Danish Film Institute, the Danish National Academy of Music and Rhythmic Music Conservatory.
