FRAGMENT | John Smith, a criminal who goes by the name The Man with the Nine Fingers, is sick of being behind bars. He eventually gets out of prison, and he and his gang make plans to rob the City Bank. When the cunning gang kidnaps the bank manager and demands a ransom of DKK 50,000, the skilled detective Sylvester Jackson is brought on board. He launches a frantic hunt for the Man with the Nine Fingers.

The film was recreated from a copy at the Netherlands Film Museum. With the aid of film historian Marguerite Engberg and documents from the Danish Film Institute’s archive, the missing part from reel 2 has been replaced with text.
