FRAGMENT | Hannibal comes across as a total lunatic in his desperate attempt to impress Miss Alma and her father. The troubles arise when Hannibal forgets his nicest shirt at home. Only at Alma’s house does he discover – to his horror – that he is still wearing his striped woollen shirt. Now it’s up to Hannibal to complete the dinner party without revealing his sheepish truth.
The film has Danish intertitles. The preserved fragment lacks the beginning and the end. Read the full plot in the cinema programme.
Lauritz Olsen plays the role of Hannibal. Like many other revue actors of the time, he was part of Lau Lauritzen Sr.’s regular comedy troupe. Olsen starred in more than 200 films at Nordisk Films Kompagni between 1907 and 1920, and continued his acting career until his death in 1955. This makes Lauritz Olsen the most productive actor as well as longest active actor in Danish film history.
