A mysterious film! That was the succinct description in the original programme for ‘The Red Club’ in 1914. One day Baroness Sonja discovers that her boyfriend Prince Stanislaus is engaged to someone else. Red with rage, Sonja vows to seek revenge and joins the Red Club, a mysterious resistance movement for anyone, wanting to have the unpopular prince thrown out. However, Stanislaus’ adjutant Boris gets wind of it and goes after Sonja. Soon his pursuit turns into a real sensational clash with explosions, gunfights, and action.
As far as we know, ‘The Red Club’ is the only feature film produced by the company Record Film. Beyond this, the company made a few farces and some reportage films. This film is an example of the so-called “sensational films” which were very popular in the 1910s.
The film has Italian intertitles and Danish subtitles.
